MASSACHUSETTS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOCIETY – NORTHEAST CHAPTER

Dear MAS – NE Chapter members and friends,
Please join us on Tuesday March 18th at 7:30 P.M. for what promises to be a most delightful evening at the Museum of Printing at 800 Massachusetts Avenue in North Andover, Massachusetts. Jules Gordon, our Northeast Chapter Treasurer and Program Chair has really come up with an outstanding program AND venue for our March 2008 meeting. The Museum of Printing - museumofprinting.org - (you may know it formerly as the Merrimack Valley Textile Museum) on North Andover Common is the country’s finest museum devoted to the history of the printed word. We will visit their extensive collection and will be hosted by the museum’s Executive Director, Gardner Lepoer. There is no charge for this presentation as the museum fee has been paid for by a donation. Please bring quests with you as this will be a great opportunity to view a unique collection and listen to one of the nation’s finest printed word historians on his “home turf”. I have previously visited the Museum of Printing and have met Mr. Lepoer. You will not want to miss this evening! Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the presentation.
A reminder to all that our annual meeting will be held on April 15th. Collection of your 2008-2009 Season Northeast Chapter dues will begin at that time. In order to renew, you need a filled out chapter application and you must be a current member of the Massachusetts Archaeological Society. We will also hold elections for our Northeast Chapter officers. Please contact me if you are interested in running for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary or Corresponding Secretary.
On a personal note, I deeply regret to announce that I have resigned from the Danvers Alarm List Company and am no longer affiliated with the Rebecca Nurse Homestead in Danvers, Massachusetts.
I look forward to seeing all of you at the Museum of Printing in North Andover on Tuesday March 18th for a special evening.
