DONATE TODAY!
Mass Archaeology welcomes the support of its many members and friends to continue our dual preservation and education mission. Your donation supports the curation of archaeological and historic collections, the creation and delivery of programs, and the engagement of broad audiences with new insights into the cultural legacy of Massachusetts and New England.
The MAS/Robbins Museum Legacy
Did you know that the Mass Archaeology is one of the few local archaeological societies in the United States to run its own museum? Yes! For over 75 years, our volunteers have dedicated their time and talents to engaging the public, professional researchers, students, and Native American tribal members at its own special repository.
Since 1988, Mass Archaeology has supported the Robbins Museum as a center for the study of New England archaeology, relying on the nearly 200,000 objects in its archaeological and ethnographical collections. But having a museum building means a serious commitment to the long-term costs associated with housing diverse collections and to safely and securely welcoming the general public.
Your gift to Mass Archaeology goes directly toward supporting the curation of the collections, the development of educational and outreach programming, and the maintenance of the repository. Donate today and support the archaeological legacy of New England.
Every Donation Makes an Impact
Powered by more than 75 years of dedicated volunteer effort, Mass Archaeology has kept program and outreach costs low. But, the COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically increased the expenses associated with operating a small museum. Your donation will have an immediate and positive impact on the curation of thousands of artifacts, documents, and photographs that tell the story of the Commonwealth. More importantly, your contributions allow volunteers to design and launch educational programming that connects students of all ages to the cultural history of New England.
The Massachusetts Archaeological Society, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation is tax deductible to the furthest extent permitted by law. Please consult your tax advisor for any questions.
Create Your Own Legacy Through Planned Giving

Collections and Object Donations
Through the years, the Robbins Museum has been pleased to receive a number of donations of archaeological and ethnographical collections from private sources. We also act as a repository location for archaeological materials generated by state-mandated excavations. At this time, we are carefully reviewing any potential additions to our holdings on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Museum Director for more information.
