Wapanucket written by Maurice (Doc) Robbins, the first Massachusetts State Archaeologist and founding member of the Massachusetts Archaeological Society (MAS), details the excavation of this important Native American site on the shore of Assawompsett Pond in Middleborough, Massachusetts. Excavation of the site was undertaken over fifty years ago by the Cohannet Chapter of the MAS. The Middleborough Cultural Council recently awarded MAS a grant to underwrite the cost of reprinting this volume.
